The South Korean entertainment scene is mourning the sudden passing of Na Dong-hyun, widely known as 'Buzzbean' (also 'Daedoseogwan'), a pioneering internet broadcaster and a trailblazer in YouTube gaming content. His death was confirmed on the 6th.

Emerging in the early 2010s, Buzzbean distinguished himself with his 'solo broadcast' concept, witty commentary, and a commitment to clean, profanity-free content. This approach significantly contributed to improving the public perception of internet broadcasting. Notably, his public disclosure of substantial YouTube earnings in 2013 encouraged many broadcasters to transition to the platform.

With over 1.4 million subscribers, Buzzbean was not only a popular gaming personality but also a versatile entertainer, appearing on Netflix's 'The Influencer' and tvN's 'Find Me a Super K'. He further expanded the influence of one-person media through his EBS show 'Buzzbean Job Show' and published books. He also served as a member of the Korea Communications Commission's Internet Culture Policy Advisory Committee.

Buzzbean married fellow broadcaster Yum-Deng in 2015, and although they divorced amicably in 2023, they remained on good terms. He was found deceased at his home in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, around 8:40 AM on the 6th.

His unique nickname 'Buzzbean' translates to 'chatty bean' and was inspired by the 'Library of Alexandria' wonder in the game 'Civilization 5'.

He played a crucial role in not only the growth of one-person media but also in establishing a healthy broadcasting culture.

His untimely death has brought profound sadness to numerous fellow creators and fans alike.
