Musical theater star Ock Joo-hyun is currently a hot topic after a recent broadcast revealed her interactions with two distinct figures: legendary singer Patti Kim and junior musical actress Lee Ji-hye.

In a YouTube video released in July on the channel 'Ock Joo-hyun,' the singer shared a heartfelt conversation with Patti Kim, a revered artist in the Korean music industry. Ock Joo-hyun expressed her deep admiration, calling Patti Kim her "muse and greatest influence." Patti Kim, in turn, playfully remarked, "You're arrogant, haughty, and stubborn. Why are you so much like me?" drawing laughter, but also offered encouragement, "Never abandon your commitment to the stage."

However, in a stark contrast, on the broadcast of Channel A's 'Four-Person Table' aired on the 8th, junior actress Lee Ji-hye candidly confessed her initial impression of Ock Joo-hyun. "I thought she was a scary senior and didn't want to get close," Lee Ji-hye revealed. "I decided just not to bother her, but it seems that approach appealed to her."

Ock Joo-hyun responded by acknowledging Lee Ji-hye's talent, stating, "I liked your skills." The discussion also touched upon Ock Joo-hyun's days in the iconic girl group Fin.K.L., where she admitted her expressions, often appearing stoic on camera, were a concern for her mother. She shared, "I even showed [Lee Ji-hye] photos, advising her that she was similar [in that regard]."

Furthermore, Ock Joo-hyun confessed to facing criticism for her uncompromising approach to her stage performances. "During a solo Fin.K.L. performance that lasted an hour, the music director told me to 'stop being excessive,' but I insisted, 'How can I do my stage moderately?'" she explained. "I believed I had to give my absolute best." She added, "Senior Patti Kim also mentioned that aspect, saying, 'That's why people call you arrogant.'"

Receiving both validation from a legendary senior and an admission of fear from a junior, Ock Joo-hyun's unwavering stage philosophy and sincere communication continue to resonate deeply with many.

Ock Joo-hyun debuted in 1998 as the main vocalist of the popular K-pop group Fin.K.L., captivating audiences with her powerful vocals. She later transitioned to musical theater, starring in major productions like 'Rebecca,' 'Elisabeth,' and 'Wicked,' establishing herself as a leading figure in Korea's musical scene. Known for her exceptional talent and candid personality, she remains an active and influential presence in various media.
