TVING's upcoming drama 'Dear X' has issued an official apology following accusations of poster similarity to another work. The production team announced on the 9th that they have immediately ceased using the poster in question and will not use it in the future.

"We belatedly recognized the similarity of the launch poster to a specific reference and have taken immediate action to stop its use and refrain from using it going forward," a representative from 'Dear X' stated to OSEN.

The drama, set to premiere in November, is described as a destructive melodrama suspense. It tells the story of top actress Baek A-jin (played by Kim Yoo-jung), who wears a mask to ascend to the highest echelons after escaping hell, and the 'X's' who are brutally trampled by her. It also delves into the desperate love of Yoon Jun-seo (played by Kim Young-dae), who chooses hell to protect her.

Accusations of similarity arose after the poster, featuring bold red 'Dear X' lettering on white paper with a tear revealing Kim Yoo-jung's intense gaze, was released on the 8th. Online communities quickly pointed out its resemblance to the poster of the Chinese film 'The Devotion of Suspect X'.

In response to the controversy, the production team deleted the posts featuring the poster and expressed their sincere apologies for causing inconvenience due to a lack of thoroughness in the production process. They assured that stricter review procedures would be implemented to prevent similar issues from recurring.

Kim Yoo-jung, a former child actress, has captivated audiences with her performances in numerous productions like 'Moon Embracing the Sun,' 'The Fiery Priest,' and the film 'The Childe.' She is highly regarded for her versatility and has consistently delivered strong portrayals across various genres.
