President Lee Jae-myung has appointed Park Jin-young, Chief Creative Officer (CCO) and lead producer of JYP Entertainment, as a co-chairperson for the Presidential Committee on Cultural Exchange, expressing high expectations for his capabilities.

During a press conference held at the Blue House's Yeongbin-gwan on the 11th, marking his 100th day in office, President Lee emphasized the importance of developing Korea's cultural prowess into an industry to create new growth engines for the nation. He specifically highlighted Park Jin-young as an "exceptionally talented planner" in this regard.

President Lee further stated that the committee's focus will be on the industrialization of culture and its global expansion, expressing confidence that Park Jin-young will achieve significant results. The Presidential Office announced the establishment of the committee on the 9th, appointing Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Choi Woo-young and Park Jin-young as co-chairs. This committee is an independent body dedicated to fostering the industrial value and international reach of popular culture, separate from the existing Arts Council which supports fine arts.

Following his appointment, Co-Chair Park Jin-young shared on his social media that while taking on a government role presents considerable burdens for an entertainment industry professional, he felt compelled to act due to the unique opportunity K-pop currently faces. He vowed to translate his on-site experiences into practical support systems and to facilitate greater opportunities for junior artists, ultimately aiming to elevate K-pop to a new level.

Park Jin-young is the founder and CCO of JYP Entertainment.

He has significantly influenced the K-pop industry as a successful singer, songwriter, and producer.

He will now play a pivotal role in a new committee aimed at boosting the nation's cultural exchange.
