Kang Mina Opts Out of I.O.I 10th Anniversary Reunion to Focus on Acting Career

Singer and actress Kang Mina will not be participating in the 10th-anniversary reunion project for the project group I.O.I.

Her agency, Story J Company, confirmed on the 12th, stating that the timing of the reunion activities conflicted with her upcoming drama filming and promotional periods for future projects, leading to considerable deliberation before deciding it would be difficult to participate.

Kang Mina is currently starring in the drama 'Twelve' and recently appeared in the Netflix film 'History of Recantation.' She has also confirmed roles in the Netflix series 'Girigo' and the tvN drama 'Tomorrow's News!', indicating a packed acting schedule.

The agency added, "Aware of the long wait and anticipation from fans, we had extensive discussions with the artist. We have decided to respect Kang Mina's wish to concentrate on her acting endeavors."

I.O.I, formed through the 2016 Mnet audition program 'Produce 101,' is currently in discussions for a reunion to commemorate their 10th anniversary in 2026.

Kang Mina debuted with I.O.I in 2016, gaining immense popularity. After the group's activities concluded, she transitioned into acting, consistently delivering stable performances. Recently, she has been solidifying her position as an actress by showcasing a wide range of acting skills through various projects.
