Nationally beloved entertainer Yoo Jae-suk is making headlines for his significant real estate venture, constructing a new building in the affluent Gangnam district of Seoul.

Reports indicate that Yoo is building a structure with three basement levels and seven above-ground floors on his property in Nonhyeon-dong. The project, designated for neighborhood commercial facilities, commenced construction in May of last year and is slated for completion around February 2026. Industry insiders suggest the building is likely intended for use as corporate headquarters or for rental business purposes.

Further bolstering his real estate profile, Yoo Jae-suk registered a business under the name 'JS607' in November 2023. The Nonhyeon-dong area is a hub for entertainment companies, including his own agency, Antenna.

This development follows Yoo's substantial property acquisitions last June, where he purchased two plots of land for a total of approximately 19.8 billion KRW, paid entirely in cash. One of these plots, acquired for 8.2 billion KRW, previously housed a 20-year-old multi-unit dwelling. Yoo has consolidated these adjacent lots to facilitate the construction of his new building. Additionally, he has purchased a luxury penthouse in the vicinity for 8.665 billion KRW and is known to own a large apartment in Apgujeong-dong.

The move marks a significant shift for Yoo, who was previously known for being more reserved in property investments despite his high earnings as an entertainer. He famously resided in a rented apartment in Apgujeong-dong for over 15 years during his 'National MC' prime, making his current large-scale real estate activity a topic of considerable interest.

Yoo Jae-suk remains highly active in the entertainment industry, currently starring in MBC's 'How Do You Play?', SBS's 'Running Man', and tvN's 'You Quiz on the Block'. He is also preparing for the release of a new Netflix variety show, 'Yoo Jae-suk Camp', and holds a significant stake in his agency, Antenna.

Debuting as a comedian in 1991, Yoo Jae-suk has earned the affectionate title of 'National MC' for his immense popularity and skillful hosting across numerous hit variety shows. He is widely admired for his comedic talent, unwavering professionalism, and consistent charitable activities. His influence extends beyond entertainment, making him a respected public figure in South Korea.
