Netflix's British drama 'Adolescence' has emerged as the biggest winner at the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards, sweeping six major awards in the Miniseries category.

The ceremony, held on August 14th (local time) at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, saw 'Adolescence' take home the awards for Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series, Directing, Writing, Lead Actor, Supporting Actor, and Supporting Actress. Including the Creative Arts Emmys, the show secured a total of eight trophies, effectively dominating its field.

Notably, 15-year-old British actor Owen Cooper made history by becoming the youngest male actor to win an Emmy Award for his supporting role. Cooper expressed his disbelief, stating, 'Three years ago, I was nobody. I never imagined I'd be coming to America when I started drama class. This feels like a dream.'

In the Drama Series category, HBO Max's medical drama 'The Pitt' secured the award for Outstanding Drama Series. Lead actor Noah Wyle finally clinched the Outstanding Lead Actor award after five previous nominations, avenging his past losses during his 'ER' days. 'The Pitt' garnered a total of five awards, including Supporting Actress and technical categories.

The award for Outstanding Comedy Series went to Apple TV+'s 'The Studio'. This series amassed an impressive 13 awards, including technical categories, surpassing last year's record set by 'The Bear'. Lead actor Seth Rogen was a major winner, taking home three awards for Lead Actor, Directing, and Writing.

Meanwhile, 'Severance: Disconnection' Season 2, produced by CJ ENM's US subsidiary Fifth Season, did not win the top series award but secured eight accolades, including Outstanding Lead Actress for Brit Lower and Outstanding Supporting Actor for Tramell Tillman. Tillman's win as a Black actor in the Drama Series Supporting Actor category marked a significant milestone.

Owen Cooper's journey to an Emmy win began with drama classes just three years prior. His remarkable win at such a young age has positioned him as a rising star in the international acting scene. Fans are eagerly anticipating his future projects.
