Kim Young-dae Opens Up About Playing a Former Singer in 'The Moon Over Us'

Actor Kim Young-dae has shared his thoughts on portraying Ham Ji-woo, a former singer, in the new MBC Friday-Saturday drama 'The Moon Over Us'.

At the press conference held on the 16th, Kim Young-dae introduced his character as 'the youngest director, formerly a failed indie singer.'

He revealed his dedication to the role, practicing instruments and singing. "I assumed I could handle the guitar, and for the drum scene, I learned to play the drums separately. I frequently visited recording studios to focus on my singing practice," he added.

Lee Sun-bin praised Kim Young-dae's singing abilities, stating, "I feel like I lose to him in every aspect, from looks to singing skills." She added, "His voice, recorded for the OST, greatly helped the scene and will be a good highlight." Ra Mi-ran also highly rated his singing skills, humorously remarking, "He seems to be aiming for the music charts."

Kim Young-dae expressed his joy in reliving his childhood dream of music through 'The Moon Over Us.' He conveyed his desire, "Experiencing music again was truly fun. If I get the chance, I want to continue working on music in the future."

'The Moon Over Us' is set to premiere on the 19th.

Kim Young-dae first gained attention after his debut in the MBC drama 'Extraordinary You' in 2019. Since then, he has consistently expanded his acting range in various productions such as 'Cheat On Me, If You Can,' 'Private Lives,' and 'Love (ft. Marriage and Divorce).' His delicate emotional performances and stable vocal delivery have earned him much praise from viewers.
