A special music festival honoring the late lyricist Park Geon-hoo is set to take place in Wonju. The '2nd Park Geon-hoo Music Festival' will be held on November 19th at 6 PM at the Chiak Gymnasium in Wonju, Gangwon Province.

Kim Jong-tae, chairman of the Park Geon-hoo Memorial Foundation, announced that following the success of last year's sold-out event, this year's festival promises an even richer stage with a wider array of performers, aiming to deliver profound emotions to the audience. The festival celebrates the legacy of Park Geon-hoo, a prominent lyricist who shaped Korean popular music history with timeless hits like 'Danbalmeori' (Short Hair), 'Ah! Daehanminguk' (Ah! Republic of Korea), and 'Bingeul Bingeul' (Spinning Around).

The initial lineup features artists spanning generations, including Nam Jin, Jin Sung, Ali, Na Tae-joo, Namgung Ok-bun, and Shin Mi-rae, with more artists to be announced later. Last year's inaugural festival saw a star-studded lineup with artists like Song Ga-in and Seol Woon-do, offering free admission to Wonju citizens and prioritizing underserved communities, establishing itself as a cultural sharing event within the local community.

The '2nd Park Geon-hoo Music Festival' is expected to highlight the musical world and artistic achievements of the late Park Geon-hoo, a renowned lyricist from Wonju, further elevating the status of regional arts and culture. Details regarding ticket reservations and viewing will be announced separately at a later date.

Park Geon-hoo was active as a lyricist from the 1970s, penning numerous hit songs. His lyrics are praised for their poetic expression combined with broad popular appeal. Songs like 'Danbalmeori', 'Ah! Daehanminguk', and 'Bingeul Bingeul' remain beloved to this day.
