Actor Jung Woo-sung made a public return as a presenter at the 34th Buil Film Awards, putting personal controversies behind him.

The ceremony, held on October 18th at Signiel Busan, is the oldest film award in Korea, established in 1958 and revived in 2008 after a hiatus. Hosted by Kim Nam-gil and Chun Woo-hee, the event was highly anticipated for Jung Woo-sung's first official appearance following recent personal issues.

Jung Woo-sung faced public scrutiny last November due to revelations about an extramarital child with model Moon Ga-bi, and later, rumors of his marriage. His agency had stated that while he was not married, he would fulfill his duties as a father. Subsequent reports of a marriage registration with a long-term partner further fueled speculation.

Following these events, Jung Woo-sung had largely withdrawn from public life, focusing solely on the filming of his new Disney+ series, 'Made in Korea.' However, as the Best Actor winner from the previous year's Buil Film Awards for '12.12: The Day,' he attended to present an award and participate in the hand-printing ceremony.

Jung Woo-sung appeared on stage with actress Kim Keum-soon, last year's Best Actress winner. He was seen laughing warmly at her playful rendition of a popular catchphrase from 'When My Love Blooms,' showcasing a relaxed demeanor. He then presented the Best Actor award to Lee Byung-hun for his performance in 'The Match,' congratulating his fellow actor.

Meanwhile, the prestigious Best Picture award went to the independent film 'Jangson.' Director Oh Jung-min expressed his honor, calling it the most prestigious award he's received and a testament to the Buil Film Awards' standing in Korea. He dedicated the award to the cast and crew, emphasizing their crucial role in bringing the film to life.

Jung Woo-sung debuted in 1994 with the film 'The Fox with Nine Tails' and has since become a leading figure in South Korean cinema. With nearly three decades of experience, he has showcased his versatility across numerous films and dramas. He is currently focused on the production of his upcoming project, 'Made in Korea,' building anticipation for his future endeavors.
