Actor Yoon Ji-on has officially stepped down from his role in a Channel A drama following revelations of his drunk driving offense. Public sentiment remains critical, with netizens stating, "There's no excuse. He caused significant harm not only to the drama team but to others as well."

Yoon Ji-on's agency confirmed the drunk driving incident and his subsequent departure from the new drama on the 17th. It was previously reported that he was acting independently after his exclusive contract with his former agency terminated in July.

The incident occurred on September 16th, when Yoon Ji-on was caught operating a motorcycle he had taken without permission while heavily intoxicated, to the point of having no memory of the event. He has admitted to all charges and later posted a lengthy apology on his social media, stating, "There is no room for excuses. I will live reflecting on my actions for the rest of my life."

However, the repercussions are proving difficult to quell. The drama 'A Baby Has Arrived,' in which he was a lead actor, had already completed filming up to episode 6. His sudden departure has placed a substantial burden on the production crew and fellow actors.

Netizens have expressed strong disapproval, commenting, "He harmed the entire production with his own mistake" and "Drunk driving is attempted murder; an apology won't resolve it." The general consensus is that his actions, unbecoming of a social member let alone an entertainer, cannot be easily forgiven.

Yoon Ji-on debuted in the 2018 drama 'My ID is Gangnam Beauty,' quickly gaining recognition. He subsequently built a steady acting career with appearances in numerous productions including 'Mr. Sunshine,' 'Search: WWW,' and 'Born Again.' He was noted for his distinctive features and stable acting skills, but this incident is expected to significantly hinder his future career prospects.
