Shockwaves have rippled through the online community following the sudden passing of prominent first-generation YouTuber Daedoseogwan (real name: Na Dong-hyun). Amidst outpouring of grief, his ex-wife, fellow YouTuber Yum-yum, has become the target of baseless criticism, turning a space for remembrance into a battlefield of accusations.

Daedoseogwan was found deceased at his home in Gwangjin-gu on the 6th. No signs of foul play or a suicide note have been reported. Known for his 1.45 million subscribers, Daedoseogwan married Yum-yum in 2015, and they shared a marriage of eight years. He famously embraced Yum-yum's son from a previous marriage as his own, garnering significant attention.

However, the couple amicably divorced in 2023, stating they were better suited as friends. Despite their separation, they maintained a friendly relationship, often meeting and supporting each other's endeavors. This history makes the recent news even more devastating for fans who admired their bond.

Following the announcement of Daedoseogwan's death, Yum-yum's social media was flooded with messages of condolence and concern for her well-being. Yet, a segment of netizens began to direct blame towards her, using the divorce as a pretext to hurl malicious comments. This wave of negativity has corrupted the memorial space, overshadowing genuine tributes.

Fans and observers are decrying these comments as 'secondary harm,' urging for legal action against those spreading baseless accusations. The focus has shifted from honoring the deceased to combating cyberbullying, highlighting the need for empathy and respect during times of mourning.

Daedoseogwan, whose real name is Na Dong-hyun, was a pioneer in the Korean YouTube scene, launching his channel in 2011 and amassing a substantial following for his diverse content and genuine interaction with fans. He and Yum-yum were often lauded as an exemplary couple, especially after he embraced her son from a previous marriage into their family. After an eight-year marriage, they divorced in 2023 but continued to support each other as friends.
