The movie delves into a mystery surrounding a mother's death, unearthed by a master craftsman specializing in seal engraving for the visually impaired, Im Young-gyu (played by Kwon Hae-hyo), and his son, Im Dong-hwan (played by Park Jeong-min).
'The Surface' has been officially selected for the 'Special Presentations' section at the 50th Toronto International Film Festival and is set for its world premiere on September 9th (local time). The film's impressive pre-sale record is generating significant anticipation for its international box office performance, fueled by director Yeon's previous global hit, 'Train to Busan.'
