
Kang Ki-young Reflects on 'The Killing Vote' Finale: A Meaningful Journey Exploring Dignity and Life's End
Actor Kang Ki-young has shared his heartfelt thoughts following the conclusion of the MBC Friday-Saturday drama 'The Killing Vote'.
In the series, which wrapped up its 12-episode run, Kang Ki-young portrayed the role of Choi Hyun, a former doctor grappling with the complex emotions surrounding assisted suicide, a sensitive and unfamiliar topic. He masterfully conveyed the character's inner turmoil, balancing his dedication to patients with internal conflicts and paternal affection, adding significant depth and emotional resonance to the narrative.
"This project was a precious time that prompted me to ask myself questions about human dignity, the meaning of life, and how we should view life's final moments," Kang Ki-young stated. "I acted with the hope that the farewell everyone will face someday would be even a little less painful, and I hope that sentiment was well-received by the viewers."
He further expressed his gratitude, saying, "I sincerely thank everyone who worked hard for this project. I am deeply grateful to the viewers who watched with warmth despite the challenging subject matter." He added, "This drama will be a significant milestone that I will remember for a long time. Kang Ki-young is also set to appear on the big screen in the omnibus film 'Believe,' specifically in the first part titled 'Nobody,' where he plays detective Tae-soo, premiering on the 17th.
