Actress Lee El has tickled the funny bone of viewers with her uninhibited comedic performance in the latest episode of the Genie TV Original drama 'My Star, My Gold'.

In the 9th episode, aired on September 15th, Lee El portrayed top star Go Hee-young, who found herself in increasingly comical situations. Her character's unpredictable, sitcom-like antics showcased a different side to the glamorous celebrity.

A particularly memorable scene involved a wardrobe malfunction at a press conference. Lee El, dressed in a designer gown, lost her balance and tumbled on stage. Her reaction, a mix of embarrassment and frustration, especially when the spotlight shifted to the reborn Bong Chung-ja (Uhm Jung-hwa), was delivered with physical comedy that had the audience roaring with laughter.

The set also became a stage for Hee-young's diva-like moments, hilariously backfiring. Obsessed with garnering attention, Hee-young's elaborate presentation was quickly overshadowed by Chung-ja, triggering her jealousy. The ensuing chaos, involving a large parasol and a fan intended to enhance her presence, resulted in her perfectly styled hair becoming disheveled, amplifying the comedic effect.

Lee El's versatility shone through as she seamlessly transitioned from deeply emotional crying scenes to lighthearted banter with the crew, asking "Was that good?" immediately after the director called cut. Her precise timing and expressive eyes added a layer of 'slice-of-life' comedy to the narrative.

Furthermore, a drinking scene with Dokgo-cheol (Song Seung-heon) led to both humor and misunderstandings. After her scouting offer was rejected, Hee-young's drunken, provocative remarks escalated into a close-quarters mishap. Her inebriated state revealed an unexpected charm, eliciting smiles from the audience, while Chung-ja's cold stare upon witnessing the scene hinted at future dramatic developments.

Lee El successfully shed Hee-young's previously aloof and elegant image, embracing her human flaws and relatable humor. This approach expanded the narrative of a 'spicy' character who is difficult not to like, showcasing her full range as an actress.

'My Star, My Gold' airs every Monday and Tuesday at 10 PM on Channel ENA and is available for exclusive free VOD viewing on Genie TV immediately after broadcast. It can also be streamed on TVING.

Lee El made her acting debut in 2009 with the film 'Whispering Corridors 5: A Blood Pledge'. She gained significant recognition for her roles in the popular dramas 'Guardian: The Lonely and Great God' (Goblin) and 'My Mister', solidifying her reputation as a versatile actress. She continues to captivate audiences across various genres in both film and television.
