WJSN's Yoo Yeon-jung Concludes Successful Run in Musical 'Frida'

Yoo Yeon-jung, a member of the K-pop group WJSN, has successfully wrapped up her final performance in the musical 'Frida'.

Starring as 'Memoria' from June 17th for approximately three months at NOL Byunghak Hall 1 in Jongno-gu, Seoul, Yoo Yeon-jung garnered significant praise for her limitless potential as a musical actress.

Expressing her gratitude through her agency, Starship Entertainment, Yoo Yeon-jung stated, "It feels unbelievable that it's already time to say goodbye to 'Frida.' It was a truly happy time. I was curious about this work even before participating, so when I first stepped on stage as 'Memoria,' I was excited and really wanted to do well. As the performances went on, I became fully immersed in 'Memoria,' and it felt like a hidden strength emerged, which was fascinating and made me thankful."

She continued, "I learned so much while working with my 'sisters,' who are also life seniors. It was an honor to be with such wonderful actors, the director, all the staff, and our UJUNG (official fan club name) who supported me from near and far. I will cherish these memories and continue to show you my best, so please look forward to it."

'Frida' is a show musical that depicts the final years of artist Frida Kahlo's life, who, despite suffering a tragic accident, never lost her passion for art and life. This production uniquely fostered a close connection between the actors and the audience, creating a shared stage that resonated with powerful energy and messages of healing.

Yoo Yeon-jung portrayed 'Memoria,' a member of 'The Last Night Show' crew, who represented Frida's childhood and another Frida in a parallel universe. Her authentic performance solidified her unique interpretation of 'Memoria,' captivating the audience with its intricate emotional depth and multifaceted charm.

Furthermore, Yoo Yeon-jung delivered a powerful and exhilarating vocal performance, flawlessly executing diverse musical numbers. Her fantastic synergy with the other cast members amplified the immersive narrative, earning her widespread applause.

Yoo Yeon-jung made her musical debut in 2022 with 'Lizzie,' leaving a strong impression with her stable vocals and detailed acting.
