Beloved YouTuber Daeddosal Passes Away from Brain Hemorrhage; Ex-Wife Yum-daeng Confirms Cause

The cause of death for popular YouTuber Daeddosal (real name Na Dong-hyun), who was found deceased at his home, has been officially confirmed as a brain hemorrhage.

His ex-wife, BJ Yum-daeng, shared the heartbreaking news on her YouTube channel on the 10th, explaining that concerned friends reported him to the police after he missed an appointment and was unreachable. Upon her arrival, she found him peacefully at rest.

To ensure clarity and address any speculation, an autopsy was performed. The results definitively identified a brain hemorrhage as the cause. Yum-daeng mentioned that while he had recently noted slightly elevated blood pressure, there were no prior indications of serious issues, including during a health check-up two years ago. She explicitly debunked rumors of a genetic heart condition or myocardial infarction being the cause.

Daeddosal, who had amassed 1.44 million subscribers, was discovered at his Seoul residence on the 6th. The National Forensic Service has preliminarily ruled out foul play. Friends had previously reported that he complained of fatigue and chest pain prior to his passing.

Following his sudden death, Yum-daeng also addressed speculation surrounding her involvement, clarifying that her son is not Daeddosal's legally adopted child and has no claim to inheritance. She explained that listing her son as the chief mourner was at the request of Daeddosal's sister, emphasizing it was out of respect for their shared history, not for financial reasons.

Yum-daeng extended her condolences to his fans, stating, "The laughter and warm heart that Daeddosal left behind will remain in our memories for a long time." She also shared details about fans bringing his favorite 'Yukgaejang' (spicy beef soup) and preparing a particularly ornate urn, reflecting his vibrant personality. Further announcements regarding Daeddosal's YouTube channel, company, and fan cafe will be made by his sister after she has had time to process the loss. Yum-daeng urged everyone to "comfort each other and cherish only the good memories."

Born in 1978, Daeddosal (Na Dong-hyun) was a pioneering YouTuber who began his career in 2011, gaining immense popularity for his diverse range of gaming and talk content. He married fellow YouTuber Yum-daeng in 2015, and they announced their divorce in 2023.
