Day6 drummer Dowoon revealed his unexpected dream before making his debut.

On the tvN show 'You Quiz on the Block,' which aired on the 10th, the band Day6 appeared as a full group to celebrate their 10th anniversary.

During the broadcast, the members shared how they ended up becoming a band after initially auditioning to be singers. Dowoon specifically recalled how he joined the band by chance while attending university.

"While I was in university, a senior student told me there was an open drum position in a band, so I auditioned," Dowoon explained. "I guess my image fit. Not because I was good-looking, though!" he added with a laugh.

He further shared, "My original dream was to become a drum academy instructor. I wanted to be a fatherly figure to my students. But I debuted just three months after joining the band. While everyone else trained for 5-6 years, I only trained for three months," revealing his unique debut story.

Dowoon also confessed to practicing dance moves separately, recounting, "I even practiced while clinging to a wall. I came to play the drums, so suddenly being asked to dance and sing meant I didn't have time for drum practice." He admitted crying to his father about wanting to quit, to which his father simply told him to "just be quiet."

Young K, acknowledging Dowoon's situation, praised him for contributing to the band's completeness as the only member with a formal music major. The members then detailed their grueling practice schedule, often exceeding 14 hours a day and 100 hours a week. Young K recalled, "I didn't know how much effort was needed, so I just did a lot. Of course, I got blisters. I learned for the first time that you could get blisters within blisters. When they burst, I'd wrap them up and keep practicing."

Wonpil mentioned practicing in the dark, and Sungjin admitted that "everything was wrong" during those times, reflecting on the difficulties of their early days. Sungjin also expressed his initial disappointment, saying, "I thought as celebrities, we'd be instantly popular upon debut. But I felt so pathetic."

The band members reminisced about their grand initial aspirations, like performing at the Super Bowl halftime show, which contrasted sharply with their early, less glamorous reality.

Dowoon is the talented drummer of the popular K-band Day6, debuting with the group in 2015.

He showcased his versatility and artistry with his solo debut album 'Federt' in 2021.

Beyond drumming, Dowoon actively participates in songwriting and composing, demonstrating his skills as a well-rounded musician.
