Director Yeon Sang-ho's latest film, 'The Face,' has successfully concluded its world premiere at the 50th Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), receiving an overwhelmingly positive response from cinephiles worldwide.
The film's stars, including Park Jung-min, Kwon Hae-hyo, Shin Hyun-been, Im Seong-jae, and Han Ji-hyun, along with director Yeon, were met with a rapturous reception from international fans and media on the red carpet Tuesday evening. This marked Yeon's third invitation to TIFF, following his acclaimed works 'The Fake' and 'Hellbound.'
The world premiere screening, held at the Princess of Wales Theatre, saw all 1,721 seats completely filled, underscoring the high anticipation for director Yeon's new project. Released on the 11th, 'The Face' tells the story of 'Im Yeong-gyu,' a master of traditional Korean seal carving who is blind, and his son 'Im Dong-hwan,' as they unravel a mystery surrounding a mother's death buried for 40 years. The film is currently playing to critical acclaim in theaters across the country.
