Broadcaster Park Myung-soo has openly shared his firm stance on the proposed 4.5-day work week.

During the 'Search N Chart' segment on KBS Cool FM's 'Park Myung-soo's Radio Show' on the morning of the 12th, he discussed the highly debated topic with fellow broadcaster Jeon Min-ki.

When Jeon Min-ki reminisced about working Saturdays in the past, suggesting the possibility of finishing work by Friday noon after 21 years, Park Myung-soo reflected, "Perhaps it's because we lived that way that we live like this now," implying that past hard work paved the way for the present.

Specifically addressing the nation's average working hours, which exceed the OECD average, Park Myung-soo expressed reservations about implementing a 4.5-day work week. "With such a low population, why would we reduce working hours?" he questioned. "We just need to avoid wasting time. We freelancers work even on holidays. We must consider the companies' perspectives," he stated, revealing his candid opinion.

He further emphasized the need for thorough discussion, adding, "There needs to be ample discussion. With the economy not doing well, if companies don't survive, we won't survive either," highlighting the importance of economic stability and corporate health.

Jeon Min-ki, in turn, noted that while 61% of the public supports the idea, there are also concerns about potential wage cuts and decreased labor productivity.

Park Myung-soo debuted in the early 1990s and is a well-known South Korean entertainer and comedian.

He has showcased his unique comedic talent on numerous popular variety shows, including 'Infinite Challenge' and 'My Little Television'.

He currently hosts 'Park Myung-soo's Radio Show,' actively engaging with listeners.
