Mnet's new survival show, ‘Unpretty Rapstar: Hip Hop Princess’ (hereafter ‘Hip Hop Princess’), has unveiled its cypher video, showcasing the passion of its Korean and Japanese contestants.

The video is divided into four themes: ‘Celebrity’, ‘Escape the School’, ‘Self-Styling’, and ‘Free Youth’. Within these concepts, 40 participants, split into Korean and Japanese teams, display their unique personalities and diverse charms.

The contestants demonstrated their versatility by embodying various styles, from sporty to chic, against backdrops like schools, red carpets, and press conference rooms. It's reported that they also showcased their producing skills by taking the lead in writing the rap lyrics and choreographing the routines.

A key highlight of this video is the opportunity to compare how the Korean and Japanese participants interpret and execute the same concepts differently, revealing their distinct appeals. This comparison is expected to further captivate viewers.

‘Hip Hop Princess’ is a joint Korean-Japanese survival program where contestants with distinct musical identities in Hip-Hop, K-POP, and J-POP challenge themselves across language and cultural barriers. The production team stated, “Please look forward to the raw energy, unique charms, and competitive spirit of the contestants,” raising anticipation for the show.

The premiere of ‘Hip Hop Princess’ is set for Thursday, October 16th at 9:50 PM KST on Mnet, and it will be simultaneously broadcast in Japan via U-NEXT.

‘Hip Hop Princess’ serves as a spin-off of ‘Unpretty Rapstar’, focusing on discovering female rappers. This season features contestants from both Korea and Japan competing together, aiming to blur the lines between K-POP and J-POP. Expectations are high for the new hip-hop girl group that will be formed through this program.
