Actor Eom Tae-gu is set to headline the first episode of the second season of Netflix's variety show 'Jang Do-ba-ri-ba-ri.'

'Jang Do-ba-ri-ba-ri,' a travel variety show where comedian Jang Do-yeon embarks on trips with her friends, will feature Eom Tae-gu's special coffee tour in Gangneung in its season 2 premiere, airing today (20th).

The trip, set against the backdrop of Gangneung, a renowned coffee destination, is themed 'In Search of the Best Latte' and is designed to reflect Eom Tae-gu's preferences as a self-proclaimed 'latte lover.' Appearing in a coffee-colored shirt to match the 'latte boy' concept, Eom Tae-gu showcased his expertise by recommending local coffee spots in Gangneung.

Despite this being their third meeting, the awkward yet unique chemistry between Eom Tae-gu, known for his introverted nature, and Jang Do-yeon is expected to bring much laughter to the viewers.

Eom Tae-gu was a highly anticipated guest, with discussions about his potential appearance in 'Jang Do-ba-ri-ba-ri' starting early in the planning stages. He explained his decision to join, stating, "I don't appear on many variety shows, so I always ask for advice, and everyone really liked it. Most importantly, I thought it would be fun to work with the best MC, Jang Do-yeon, for the third time."

He also expressed his strong admiration for the season 1 episode featuring Byun Yo-han, frequently mentioning his name throughout the trip, making viewers curious about the context.

Contrasting his intense on-screen image, Eom Tae-gu, who has an introverted personality, is poised to become a rising star in the variety show scene, promising to overcome shyness to deliver entertainment.

Notably, he will share intriguing behind-the-scenes stories related to his role as the sole MC for the web variety show 'Simple Labor: Workman Side Story,' 18 years after his debut.

When asked by Jang Do-yeon about his experience with scripted skits, Eom Tae-gu recounted an incident on 'Simple Labor' where a skit nearly led to the cancellation of filming, eliciting laughter.

The episode also anticipates Eom Tae-gu and Jang Do-yeon's adventurous foray into improv acting. They will perform various impromptu scenes, including a skit as a divorced couple in front of the Seocho District Court, promising a hilarious experience.

While initially flustered by Jang Do-yeon's bold ad-libs, Eom Tae-gu gradually immersed himself in the role, even showing signs of becoming addicted to acting, adding another layer of amusement.

Viewers can look forward to Eom Tae-gu, the 'passionate variety newcomer,' showcasing his unpredictable charm as he navigates between playfulness and sincerity.
