‘BOYS PLANET’ Reveals Top 24 Contestants in 2nd Survival Announcement; Lee Sang-won Solidifies Top Spot

Mnet’s ‘BOYS PLANET’ has unveiled the 24 contestants who are one step closer to their debut dreams following the second survival announcement ceremony.

The results of the second global vote saw an overwhelming participation of over 14.6 million votes from 222 countries and regions worldwide, demonstrating the show's global appeal. Amidst fierce competition and dramatic shifts in rankings, a select group has advanced.

The show's immense popularity was also reflected in viewership ratings. For the 10s and 20s female demographic, it secured the number one spot in its time slot, including terrestrial broadcasters. On the OTT platform TVING, the real-time peak viewership share exceeded 92%.

Furthermore, global social media platforms buzzed with activity. X (formerly Twitter) saw 20 worldwide trends simultaneously, while over 90 keywords dominated the top charts in more than 10 countries across Asia, Europe, and South America. China's leading social media platform, Weibo, also featured the show in its overall, entertainment, and variety show rankings.

Lee Sang-won maintained his undisputed first place by surpassing 10 million votes. Following him were Jo Woo-shin in second place, with over 2 million votes, and the remaining contestants securing their spots in the debut race: Lee Roe-da, Huh Won-seok, Kim Jun-seo, Jeong Se-ung, Kim Gyu-vin, and Yu Jun-min.

Notable surges in rankings included Kim Jun-min, who climbed 16 spots to 11th place, and Jeon Woo-seok, who reached 12th place after a strong rap performance. Park Gun-wook also made a significant jump of 22 places to secure 13th, signaling a rising contender. Lee Ji-hao, with an inspiring message to his fans, rose 14 places. Park Dong-kyu dramatically secured the final 24th spot through a live vote.

Additionally, the lineup for the third mission, the ‘Debut Concept Battle,’ featuring new songs like ‘Lucky MACHO,’ ‘Chains,’ ‘Sugar HIGH,’ and ‘MAIN DISH,’ was revealed. The fourth global vote is currently underway on Mnet Plus until April 12th at 10 AM KST, allowing fans to select only three trainees, intensifying the competition for the final debut lineup.

The upcoming ninth episode, airing on April 11th at 9:20 PM KST, will feature the 24 survivors performing their ‘Debut Concept Battle’ stages. Viewers are anticipating the potential team changes and the captivating performances that will capture the hearts of global fans.
