Hwang Seung-un Addresses News of Brother-in-Law Kwak Dong-yeon's Marriage: 'Nothing to Say'
Actress Hwang Seung-un has cautiously commented on the recent marriage news involving actor Kwak Dong-yeon and her younger sister.
In a statement to OSEN on the 9th, Hwang Seung-un stated, "It's not something I can comment on, so I apologize," maintaining a reserved stance.
A media report had previously revealed that Kwak Dong-yeon, who tied the knot in May, is married to Hwang Seung-un's biological younger sister. The couple's marriage, announced less than a week before the ceremony, was solemnized with a church wedding on May 24th, according to industry insiders.
Kwak's wife, identified as Ms. Hwang, had previously made a surprise appearance on the 2015 Tcast show 'Follow Me 7' alongside Hwang Seung-un. The sisters collaborated on a photoshoot, drawing attention for their striking resemblance, with staff praising their "superior genes" and noting the sister's likeness to actress Liu Yifei.
Kwak Dong-yeon's agency, Team Hope, officially responded, stating, "As Kwak Dong-yeon's wife is a non-celebrity, we would appreciate your understanding that we cannot provide specific details regarding family matters." The lack of concrete information, including her age, surrounding Kwak's wife had previously sparked public curiosity.
Hwang Seung-un, respecting her non-celebrity sister's privacy, reiterated her position of "nothing to say," demonstrating a careful approach to the sensitive matter. Kwak Dong-yeon debuted in the 2007 SBS drama 'Mackerel Run' and has since built a robust filmography, including films like 'The Rotten Eggs', 'The Battleship Island', 'Anarchist from Colony', and 'The Roundup', as well as numerous dramas and variety shows.
Hwang Seung-un, who debuted in the 2010 film 'YOGA HAKWON', has gained recognition through roles in dramas such as 'Golden Rainbow', 'Witch's Court', and 'Time'. She garnered significant popularity for her portrayal of a love coach in the web drama 'Love Cells Season 2'.
