Rookie Group CORTIS Captivates Fans with Electrifying Debut Showcase Just Three Weeks After Launch
Less than a month after their official debut, the rookie boy group CORTIS has already held their first solo showcase, delivering a night of powerful performances and emotional connection to their global fanbase.
The event, dubbed the 'CORTIS 1st EP [COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES] Release Party,' took place on September 8th at the Hwajeong Gymnasium, Korea University in Seoul. The showcase was simultaneously broadcast worldwide via Weverse, the official HYBE LABELS YouTube channel, and TikTok, allowing fans from 190 countries to join the celebration in real-time.
Kicking off the night, CORTIS presented the very first live performance of their follow-up track, 'FaSHioN,' showcasing the members' high energy and commanding stage presence. This was followed by a dynamic rendition of 'GO!,' after which the group expressed their excitement, stating, "We're even happier because this is our very first solo performance since debut. Please enjoy tonight as if it were a real party."
For their title track, 'What You Want,' CORTIS stunned the audience with a visually spectacular performance featuring 31 treadmills, a production scale rarely seen outside of major televised music shows. The members energized the venue with their free-spirited choreography, moving across the main and extended stages, met with thunderous fan chants.
The setlist also included the debut performances of 'JoyRide' and 'Lullaby,' further exciting the audience with fresh material. Between musical numbers, the group treated fans to self-produced content, including a special video for 'GO!,' a humorous skit for 'What You Want,' and the premiere of the official 'Lullaby' music video, highlighting their identity as a "young creative crew."
As the show neared its end, members were visibly moved, shedding tears of gratitude. "To be able to witness this beautiful moment together feels like such a blessing. Thank you sincerely," they shared. "It's only been three weeks since our debut. We want to share this long journey with you, our fans."
CORTIS, introduced by BigHit Music under HYBE as their first new boy group in six years, is set to release a conceptual performance film for 'FaSHioN' on September 9th, followed by their official comeback stages beginning with Mnet's M Countdown on September 11th.
CORTIS is HYBE's newest boy group, marking the agency's first male idol group debut in six years. The group is noted for its sophisticated concept and strong performance skills right from their debut. Their name, derived from 'Cortical,' signifies their ambition to deliver music with depth and intricate artistry.
