Sunmi Reveals Past Low Weight Struggles and Current Body on 'Salon Drip 2'
Singer Sunmi appeared on the YouTube channel 'Salon Drip 2', sharing candid stories about her past struggles with being underweight and her current weight.
In the episode released on the 9th, under the theme 'Not a Born Single, But I Want to Date,' Sunmi showcased her honest and witty side. She recalled how her agency used to give her herbal supplements to gain weight during her younger years, stating, "My body constitution has changed to gain weight."
Sunmi confessed that she successfully gained weight after her world tour. However, she revealed that during the 'Gashina' promotions, she weighed 43kg, and during 'Heroine,' she was as low as 41kg. While she felt satisfied after reaching 52kg, with her recent comeback featuring songs with instrumental performances, she decided to lose weight again, returning to her 40kg range.
When asked about her current diet management, Sunmi surprised everyone by sharing that she eats a packet of nuts and a packet of roasted chestnuts for breakfast. If her energy levels drop significantly, she consumes a 70g packet of dried sweet potato sticks.
Regarding her daring stage outfit at Waterbomb, she jokingly commented, "I think people came to see Cha Hyun-seung next to me, rather than me," and shared a humorous anecdote about audience members shooting water guns into her mouth during performances, leading to an "automatic gargle."
Sunmi debuted in 2007 with the iconic K-pop group Wonder Girls, quickly becoming a beloved figure in the industry. After transitioning to a solo career, she has consistently delivered hit songs such as '24 Hours a Day', 'Gashina', 'Heroine', and 'Siren', captivating audiences with her unique concepts and music.
