Shim Hyung-tak Reveals Plans for a Third Child with Wife Saya on 'Radio Star'

Broadcaster Shim Hyung-tak has become a hot topic after candidly sharing his plans for a third child with his wife, Saya, on the show 'Radio Star'.

Appearing on MBC's 'Radio Star' on the 10th, Shim Hyung-tak discussed the differences in parenting styles between Korea and Japan with his wife Saya, forging a deep connection with viewers. He highlighted that unlike Korea's government support for new mothers, it's not common in Japan to use babysitters or postpartum helpers, emphasizing that the couple shoulders all childcare responsibilities themselves.

Shim Hyung-tak confessed, 'My wife insisted we raise the child solely on our own, so since leaving the postpartum care center, we've never once left our child with anyone else. I've lost count of how many times my nose has bled from staying up all night and day.' He even carried their child while heading to filming schedules, showcasing his devotion as a 'parenting dad'. His dedicated efforts even led MC Kim Gu-ra to jokingly ask if he'd fallen for a 'honey trap,' but Shim Hyung-tak affirmed his unwavering love for his wife.

Most notably, at 47 years old, Shim Hyung-tak surprised everyone by revealing not only plans for a second child but also an agreement with his wife Saya, who is 18 years his junior, to have a third child. 'My wife wanted a fourth, but we compromised on a third,' he shared, expressing his desire to build a large family.

He mentioned preparing bouquets and handwritten letters for his wife but always making mistakes, and humorously recounted a situation where his birthday fell on the same day as their son's birth, requiring him to prioritize his son's celebration with cake.
