Singer Heo Gong Denies Recent Drunk Driving Allegations as 'False Reports'
Singer Heo Gong's agency has strongly refuted recent reports alleging a second instance of drunk driving, stating the claims are entirely unfounded.
A representative from his agency, In Your Star, clarified on the 12th that while a past DUI incident from 2023 is true, the recent reports suggesting a new offense are false. "It's completely untrue that Heo Gong committed another drunk driving offense," the agency official stated.
The agency further elaborated that Heo Gong fully cooperated with the police investigation following the 2023 incident, promptly apologized, and reached a settlement. He re-signed with the agency in December last year, vowing to avoid any further mistakes and expressing his intention to reflect through his musical performances.
However, the agency expressed frustration that initial reports from two years ago are being recirculated by some media outlets without proper fact-checking, creating the impression of a recent event. While some outlets have corrected or deleted their erroneous reports, others have allegedly distorted facts and remain unreachable.
The agency also revealed that due to these false reports, Heo Gong has faced canceled schedules, including one event. They plan to clarify the situation and address the unfair damage caused by the misinformation. Despite the setbacks, Heo Gong is reportedly remorseful and has apologized to his agency for the trouble. The agency is committed to supporting his growth as an artist who can bring positive influence through his music.
Heo Gong gained initial recognition as the twin brother of singer Huh Gak. He was involved in a DUI accident in August 2023. The singer recently made a comeback with a song titled 'Heo Gong'.
