I.O.I's 10th Anniversary Reunion Faces Setback as Kang Mi-na Opts Out

Project group I.O.I, preparing for a reunion to celebrate their 10th anniversary next year, will unfortunately not be a full 15-member act as originally hoped. Member Kang Mi-na has officially withdrawn from the reunion activities.

Formed in 2016 through Mnet's 'Produce 101', I.O.I had been building anticipation for their 10th-anniversary comeback. Recent statements from members like Jeon Somi and Jung Chae-yeon hinted at concrete plans, with Somi expressing, 'We are trying to make it work next year' and Chae-yeon stating their desire to 'repay the love' from fans.

However, the excitement has been tempered by the news on the 12th that Kang Mi-na will not be participating. Her agency, Story J Company, cited a conflict with her ongoing drama filming and promotional schedules. 'After much deliberation with the artist, we decided to respect her wish to focus on her acting career, making participation in this reunion difficult,' the company stated.

Kang Mi-na is currently active in the drama 'Twelve' and recently appeared in the Netflix film 'The History of Confession'. She is also confirmed for upcoming projects like the Netflix series 'Girigo' and the tvN drama 'Tomorrow's Work!'. Her packed acting schedule makes her absence from the I.O.I reunion understandable, though disappointing for fans hoping for a complete lineup.

Kang Mi-na has been actively pursuing an acting career since I.O.I's activities concluded.

She has showcased her acting skills in various productions, earning praise for her performances.

Currently, she is occupied with filming and promotional schedules for multiple dramas and films.
