Sean Completes '815 Run' Marathon, Inspiring Many with 2.3 Billion Won Donation
Singer Sean has completed the '815 Run' charity marathon, bringing tears and inspiration to viewers. The MBC entertainment program 'Omniscient Interfering View' (Hereinafter referred to as 'Omniview'), aired on the 13th, featured Sean sharing his journey with the 815 Run, an event he has been participating in for six years.
On the day of the marathon, Sean's manager was fully prepared to support him, but Sean himself was not in the best physical condition, even requiring an IV drip. After 4 hours and 30 minutes into the race, during his first rest break, Sean's legs appeared weak. He explained, 'When I stop, my body starts to realize things. Suddenly, different parts become difficult.' He also confessed to enduring pain in his heels and Achilles tendons with every step, estimating it to be around 40,000 painful steps.
Experiencing a growing fear of muscle cramps during the run, Sean briefly stopped with the help of a pacer and decided to receive assistance from a physical therapist. The therapist diagnosed his left hamstring as being extremely tight. Watching himself on screen, Sean remarked, 'My body remembers those difficult moments and twitches,' prompting many of the show's panelists to become visibly emotional.
With 4km left, buoyed by the cheers of citizens, Sean pushed forward, eventually collapsing as he crossed the finish line. He expressed his overwhelming feelings, stating, 'The most accurate word is 'overwhelmed.' I'm not just overwhelmed by finishing, but by being able to deliver about 8 hours' worth of thank-you letters.' This year's '815 Run' successfully raised 2.3 billion won, which will be used to build approximately 15 'Miracle Homes'.
Sean debuted in 1997 as part of the hip-hop duo Jinusean, quickly gaining recognition. He later pursued a successful solo career, releasing numerous hit songs. He is widely known as a 'donation angel' in the entertainment industry, serving as an inspiration to many through his consistent acts of kindness.
