SEVENTEEN Apologizes for Concert Pyrotechnics Mishap, Promises Support for Injured Fans
Pledis Entertainment, the agency for K-pop group SEVENTEEN, has issued a formal apology following an accident involving pyrotechnics during their concert in Incheon on September 13th.
The company announced on the fan community platform Weverse that "a portion of the pyrotechnics used in the final segment of the 'SEVENTEEN WORLD TOUR [NEW_] IN INCHEON' concert unexpectedly fell towards the audience seating area."
They explained that despite repeated safety checks conducted by a professional company before the show, the incident occurred due to a defect in some of the products. "We offer our deepest apologies to all audience members who were startled or inconvenienced by this sudden situation," the statement read.
Two fans who sustained injuries were immediately treated at the venue's temporary medical center and were able to return home. Pledis Entertainment has pledged to actively support their ongoing medical treatment for a swift recovery. The agency will also send separate messages to the concert attendees to gather information about any further damage and the specifics of the situation.
For the scheduled performance on September 14th, the company assured that the problematic pyrotechnic product would be excluded, and extensive safety checks would be performed to prevent any recurrence. "We sincerely apologize once again for the concern and inconvenience caused by this incident. We will continue to prioritize the safety of our audience and do our utmost to create an even safer concert environment," they concluded.
SEVENTEEN is currently holding their 'BSSD' world tour concerts at the Incheon Asiad Main Stadium from September 13th to 14th.
