Kentaro Sakaguchi Cancels Busan Festival Schedule Amid Love Triangle Rumors
Japanese actor Kentaro Sakaguchi has abruptly canceled his scheduled visit to South Korea following reports of dating scandals and a love triangle.
Sakaguchi was slated to attend the 30th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) for a press conference promoting his film 'Final Piece.' However, the event was unexpectedly called off due to unforeseen personal circumstances of the guest.
The Japanese entertainment magazine 'Shukan Bunshun' initially reported that Sakaguchi was cohabiting with a stylist, identified as Ms. A, whom he had been dating for approximately four years. The controversy escalated with further reports suggesting a love triangle involving top actress Mei Nagano.
According to the reports, Mei Nagano approached Sakaguchi even while he was in a relationship with Ms. A, and the two were allegedly seen on dates, holding hands. Sakaguchi reportedly confessed his relationship with Nagano to Ms. A last spring. Ms. A then allegedly contacted Nagano directly, warning her to end the relationship.
A source close to Nagano claimed that Sakaguchi wanted to continue seeing Nagano but was unable to finalize his relationship with Ms. A. Sakaguchi is reportedly now separated from Ms. A.
Adding to the shock, Nagano was also reportedly involved in an extramarital affair with married actor Kei Tanaka last fall. 'Shukan Bunshun' suggested that Tanaka discovered the affair after hearing Nagano mention Sakaguchi's nickname during a drinking session.
As these allegations surfaced, public attention turned to Sakaguchi's upcoming schedule in Busan. Despite initial statements from the BIFF indicating no changes, the press conference was ultimately canceled.
Kentaro Sakaguchi debuted in the film 'The Beginning of the Summer' in 2014, establishing himself as an actor.
