(G)I-DLE's Yuqi Returns as a Solo Artist with "Motivation," Showcasing Evolved Musicality

Yuqi (YUQI), a member of the group (G)I-DLE, is making her comeback as a solo artist with an evolved musical spectrum.

Yuqi will release her first single 'Motivation' on various music platforms at 6 PM on the 16th. This single includes the title track 'M.O.' as well as the B-side track 'Sadness' and its Chinese version, '还痛吗' (Hai Tong Ma).

The music video for the pre-released B-side 'Sadness' garnered significant attention in the Greater China region, featuring a collaboration with popular Chinese actor Wang Anyu. 'Sadness' is a song that highlights a warm guitar sound, expressing the raw emotions of facing a breakup.

The title track 'M.O.' is a boom-bap based hip-hop track conveying the message that conviction stemming from intuition, rather than being bound by perspectives or rules, is the driving force for Yuqi. It blends vintage drum loops and heavy bass with Yuqi's deep vocal tone.

The accompanying music video captivates with its diverse concepts evoking 90s nostalgia. From vintage hair salons to offices and surreal spaces, Yuqi's dynamic styling and the artistic visuals stand out, adapting to each unique atmosphere.

Released approximately one year and five months after her mini-album 'YUQ1' in April of last year, the single 'Motivation' showcases Yuqi's mature musical identity as a solo artist, as she participated in the writing and composing of all tracks.

Yuqi felt motivated to create this album as a gift for her fans before her birthday. She focused on delivering a hip-hop vibe with 'M.O.' and expressing delicate emotions in 'Sadness.' The music video for 'M.O.' captures the essence of 90s old-school hip-hop, offering a visually engaging experience.
