Actor Yoon Ji-on Exits Drama Due to Drunk Driving, Facing Ironic Backlash
Actor Yoon Ji-on has been forced to withdraw from a drama series after being caught driving under the influence, adding an ironic twist to his career.
On the 17th, Yoon Ji-on's former agency confirmed the news, stating that he was removed from the ongoing Channel A drama 'A Baby Has Been Born' following his DUI offense.
The incident occurred while Yoon Ji-on was in the process of seeking a new agency after his exclusive contract with Eum Hashtag expired on July 6th. This DUI charge has now halted his entertainment activities.
Ironically, Yoon Ji-on initially gained public attention by stepping in as a replacement for another actor who faced controversy for aiding a drunk driver. He joined the JTBC drama 'Be Melodramatic' in 2019, replacing actor Oh Seung-yoon who was removed due to charges related to drunk driving. He has since appeared in various productions, taking on a significant role in the tvN drama 'My Friend's Son's Mom' last year.
Yoon Ji-on began his acting journey with 'Be Melodramatic,' showcasing his potential. He later broadened his portfolio with roles in diverse projects like 'The Cursed' and 'Hellbound,' consistently delivering unique performances. His latest project, 'A Baby Has Been Born,' was intended to be a new chapter in his acting career.
