Kim Gun-mo Confirms Comeback After 6 Years, Announces Nationwide Tour

Veteran singer Kim Gun-mo has officially confirmed his return to the music scene after a six-year hiatus, sparking significant interest from fans.

Recent reports of his reunion with jazz pianist Yang Tae-kyung, followed by the announcement of his nationwide tour, have amplified anticipation for his comeback.

Yang Tae-kyung shared an anecdote on his social media about a chance encounter with Kim Gun-mo at a rehearsal studio. He recalled Kim Gun-mo warmly greeting him and extending a handshake, expressing, "I'm watching your YouTube channel well." Yang reminisced about Kim's kindness 10 years prior on 'Open Concert,' where Kim covered for his mistake with his singing. He conveyed his joy and support for Kim's return to the stage after a difficult period, remarking, "He is always so gentle, and his smile is the most handsome."

Furthermore, concert production company Istar Media Company officially announced that Kim Gun-mo's nationwide tour, 'KIM GUN MO,' will commence in September. This series of updates on his recent activities has brought renewed warmth and excitement.

Kim Gun-mo suspended his activities in 2019 following sexual assault allegations. However, the prosecution dropped the charges in 2021, and subsequent appeals and 재정신청 (reconsideration requests) were all dismissed, concluding the case in 2022. Despite the hiatus, close associates report that he never let go of his passion for music.

Fans have responded with overwhelming enthusiasm to the news of his return. Ticket sales for the nationwide tour began exclusively on Yes24 on August 29th. The first concert is scheduled for September 27th in Busan, followed by stops in Daegu in October, Daejeon in December, and Seoul in January, connecting him with fans across the country.
