Eugene & Shin So-yul React Professionally to Husbands' Kiss Scenes
Actresses Eugene and Shin So-yul have garnered applause for their professional and cool-headed approach to their actor husbands' on-screen kiss scenes. The two stars, along with Lee Min-young, appeared on MBN's 'Let's Go Go' (tentative title) to discuss their personal lives and work, particularly focusing on the topic of 'my husband's/wife's business'.
During their appearance, MC Ahn Jung-hwan and special MC Jei-sun toured the set of the drama 'The First Lady', marveling at the luxurious bedroom set that resembled a high-end hotel.
Ahn Jung-hwan posed a question about how his wife, comedian Hong Hyun-hee, might feel if she filmed intimate scenes. Jei-sun, married to Hong, responded, "I understand it's part of the job, so it's okay. She gets uncomfortable if I make a fuss." He then turned the question back to Ahn Jung-hwan, asking about his hypothetical feelings if his wife, Lee Hye-won, filmed a kiss scene. Ahn Jung-hwan stated firmly, "It's fine because I don't have acting roles myself."
Shin So-yul, who is married to musical actor Kim Ji-cheol, shared calmly, "I periodically watch my husband's kiss scenes. I just watch them with a sense of contentment." Eugene added, "My husband (Ki Tae-young) is also an actor, so it's okay. Actors understand each other. That's why it's good when your spouse is in the same profession. We don't need to say anything; we can tell how the filming went just by looking at each other's eyes."
Lee Min-young, who is not yet married, commented, "Even when I see a kiss scene, I see the atmosphere around me and the staff, and I just think, 'They did a good job immersing themselves.'" Eugene agreed, humorously noting, "When I watch kiss scenes, I actually see things like, 'They should have angled it a little more,'" eliciting laughter from the group.
'The First Lady' tells the story of a woman whose husband, after being elected president, makes the unprecedented demand for a divorce. The drama is set to premiere on the 24th.
Eugene debuted in 1997 as a member of the first-generation K-pop girl group S.E.S. and successfully transitioned into acting in 2003. She married actor Ki Tae-young in 2011 and they have two daughters. Shin So-yul gained significant popularity for her role in the 2012 drama 'Reply 1997' and married musical actor Kim Ji-cheol in 2019 after a highly publicized 9-month relationship, holding a modest wedding ceremony. Lee Min-young began her career as a child model and actress before becoming an official MBC talent in 1994, building a strong acting portfolio.
