Announcer Kim Jin-woong Returns to 'Donkey Ear President' After a Month, Presence Minimized Through Editing
Announcer Kim Jin-woong has reappeared on KBS2's 'Donkey Ear President' approximately one month after a controversy during his August broadcast.
The episode aired on the 21st showed junior announcers Kim Jin-woong and Hong Joo-yeon preparing a feast of samgyeopsal and malatang for announcer Uhm Ji-in's family, who were visiting Korea for the first time in two years.
During the meal, Hong Joo-yeon engaged with Uhm Ji-in's children, asking about which parent was more prone to nagging and about the specific topics of their scolding.
However, Kim Jin-woong was only briefly captured in group photos or through his voice, with the majority of his scenes being edited out, drawing significant attention from viewers.
This follows Kim Jin-woong's controversial remarks on the August broadcast, stating, 'I can't live like senior Do Kyung-wan. I can't live as someone's subordinate,' which led to public criticism and a reported rift with Jang Yoon-jung. He subsequently issued a public apology, and the production team also released an official statement.
Despite this return to the airwaves after about a month, the minimized presence of Kim Jin-woong through editing highlighted that the aftermath of the previous controversy still lingers.
Kim Jin-woong began his career as a KBS announcer after passing the 38th public recruitment. He gained recognition through various cultural programs like '6 PM My Hometown.' His recent appearance on 'Donkey Ear President' marks a notable return to broadcast programming, drawing attention to his future activities.
