JK Kim Dong-wook Sparks Controversy Again with Political Message: 'Ignorant People...'
Singer JK Kim Dong-wook is once again stirring controversy with his political statements posted on social media.
On the 22nd, JK Kim Dong-wook shared a post on his SNS stating, "Ignorant people surround themselves with wise individuals to fill their ignorance. Uneducated people surround themselves with those less educated than them to justify their own lack of knowledge."
This remark is being interpreted as a criticism of the current government's personnel appointments, drawing renewed attention to his political leanings.
JK Kim Dong-wook previously gained significant attention for his pro-former President Yoon Suk-yeol stance. He had expressed his political colors by posting a photo with the Taegeukgi (Korean flag) and writing, "Protecting the president is the way to protect the country! Who is the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials?"
Following the former president's impeachment, he posted, "Never never never change," and expressed concerns about the nation's future, writing, "Whenever I watch videos predicting that 2060 will be the year South Korea collapses, I used to think 'no way,' but now I think it might collapse faster than the world expects."
He also connected with the far-right political actions of the younger generation, stating, "Our 2030s! Applause and cheers for fighting to oppose this impeachment and thwart anti-national forces."
Regarding the recent South Korea-US summit, he voiced strong personal opinions, saying, "After seeing an abnormal summit that was one-sided ass-licking, even the taste of tacos turned my stomach." He added, "I hope it's remembered as the first abnormal meeting where they were not properly treated from arrival in the US until departure."
Recently, he also expressed support for Chairperson Lee Jin-sook of the Korea Communications Commission by saying, "I strongly support Chairman Lee." However, with his latest 'justification of ignorance' commentary, JK Kim Dong-wook finds himself back in the center of a heated debate.
Born in 1957, JK Kim Dong-wook is a singer active in South Korea but holds Korean-Canadian nationality. He immigrated to Canada with his family around his second year of high school and obtained Canadian citizenship, which exempted him from mandatory military service. As a non-citizen of South Korea, he does not possess the right to vote in national elections.
