Rookie Group CORTIS Tops Domestic Charts with Debut Track 'GO!'
Rookie boy group CORTIS has achieved a remarkable feat, with their debut album intro track 'GO!' soaring to the top of domestic music charts.
According to the latest charts released on September 21st, 'GO!' secured the number one spot on Apple Music's 'Top 100 Today' in Korea. The song initially entered the chart at 81st place on its release day (September 8th) but has since shown a consistent upward trend, claiming the top position just 13 days after its release.
CORTIS is experiencing a multi-hit success, with their follow-up track 'FaSHioN' ranking 5th and their title song 'What You Want' charting at 7th within the 'Top 10'. Additionally, another album track, 'JoyRide,' has entered the charts at 28th, highlighting the group's widespread popularity.
The group's success is also evident on the Melon daily chart. 'GO!' is the only song by a boy group debuting this year to enter the Melon daily chart, debuting at 95th place on September 21st. It further achieved its personal best on the real-time 'Top 100' chart, reaching 78th place on the morning of September 23rd.
International listeners have also responded enthusiastically. On Spotify, the world's largest music streaming platform, 'GO!' has maintained over one million daily streams for seven consecutive days (September 15th-21st). It is particularly encouraging that the song's streaming trend is increasing over time, defying the typical pattern of initial high streams followed by a gradual decline.
During their promotions for the title track 'What You Want,' CORTIS performed 'GO!' on music shows for a week. Several of these performances sparked a viral challenge on social media, contributing to the surge in music chart rankings. This momentum led to 'GO!' being brought back for a performance on SBS 'Inkigayo' on September 21st, and its choreography was further highlighted on the M2 YouTube channel's 'Relay Dance' video on September 22nd, driving a significant jump in its chart positions.
Big Hit Music stated, "We are grateful for the global fans' interest in CORTIS. To show our appreciation, we have decided to perform 'GO!' again on some music shows this week. We hope this will be a special gift for our fans."
CORTIS is the new boy group introduced by Big Hit Music, a label under HYBE, after a six-year hiatus. Their debut album 'COLOR OUTSIDE LINES' recorded first-week sales (Hanteo Chart) of 436,367 copies, ranking first among debut albums by new groups this year and fourth all-time for K-pop group debut albums.
CORTIS is comprised of five members: Martin, James, Junghoon, Seunghyun, and Gunho. Their debut album 'COLOR OUTSIDE LINES' showcases the members' diverse charms and musical spectrum. The group's name, 'CORTIS,' is inspired by 'Cortez,' signifying their ambition to conquer the music scene.
