Lee Min-jung clarified on her Instagram, stating, “This place is not a church, but a venue used as an event hall and restaurant within a hotel, preserving walls that were part of a church centuries ago.” She further added, “Although I am a Christian and not a Catholic, I apologize if taking a photo on the altar caused discomfort. I will be more careful in the future.” The photos were shared during her attendance at the Venice International Film Festival, where she is present with her husband, Lee Byung-hun.

The controversy was amplified by the composition of the photo, which prominently featured the luxury bag. Lee Min-jung's swift apology and explanation aim to resolve misunderstandings and demonstrate her commitment to greater caution moving forward.
