Singer and actress Im Yoon-ah has confidently shared her perspective on the prejudices faced by actors who debut as idols.

Appearing on the recent tvN variety show 'You Quiz on the Block,' Im Yoon-ah candidly discussed her experiences. When MC Yoo Jae-suk inquired about potential preconceived notions regarding idol-turned-actors, she responded, "While there might be some, my biggest thought was that I just needed to do well myself."

She further elaborated, "It's true that initial opportunities might arise from the popularity gained through idol activities, but if I can't even perform well in those chances, there won't be a next time." Im Yoon-ah emphasized her belief that showcasing a performance convincing enough would naturally sway any skepticism.

Im Yoon-ah also expressed her joy in seeing fellow former idols succeed as actors, stating, "When I see friends I used to promote with as idols sitting as actors at award ceremonies, even if we aren't close, I find myself cheering them on, and it feels good." She concluded by noting, "Rather than prejudice, I felt that if you continue to do well, positive reactions will follow."

Im Yoon-ah debuted in 2007 as a member of the iconic girl group Girls' Generation, quickly becoming a household name.

She has since transitioned successfully into acting, starring in hit dramas like 'King the Land' and 'Hush,' and films such as 'Exit' and 'Confidential Assignment 2: International.'

Her captivating presence and versatile acting skills have earned her a significant global fanbase, extending beyond South Korea.
