NewJeans Skips Second Mediation Session Amid ADOR Dispute
Group NewJeans has opted out of attending the second mediation session concerning their exclusive contract dispute with agency ADOR, raising questions about the future proceedings.
The second mediation hearing for the lawsuit filed by ADOR against NewJeans took place privately at the Seoul Central District Court on the 11th. However, none of the NewJeans members were present for the session.
This follows the first mediation session where members Minji and Danielle attended. The court had previously encouraged the appearance of 'parties with actual authority' to facilitate the discussion, but no specific outcome was disclosed from that initial meeting, suggesting a gap in understanding or agreement between the parties.
The absence of the members in this latest session has intensified public curiosity regarding the potential progression of the mediation or if the case will proceed to a judgment by the court, which is scheduled for October 30th if no agreement is reached.
NewJeans, a five-member girl group debuted in 2022, quickly rose to fame with their unique concepts and music.
Songs like 'Hype Boy' and 'Attention' became massive hits, solidifying their status as a leading K-pop group.
The members are Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein.
