YouTuber 'Oking' Announces Return After 1 Year 4 Months Amidst Crypto Scam Controversy

YouTuber Oking has officially announced his return to YouTube after approximately one year and four months following his involvement in a cryptocurrency scam controversy.

In a community post on his channel 'OkingTV', Oking stated, "I am well aware that my return to activities on any platform might be unpleasant for many people," adding, "Though I have no shame, I intend to gradually restart operating my YouTube channel."

Oking had previously taken a period of self-reflection last year due to the 'scam coin' incident. Although he initially claimed to be a victim, accusations intensified when it was revealed he was listed as a director for the related company. He also faced further backlash after being identified as the winner of 'The Influencer,' which led to him forfeiting a 300 million KRW prize due to spoiler-related issues.

Following this, Oking halted his YouTube activities after a live broadcast in May of last year. He resumed broadcasting on the platform Chzzk in July and his latest announcement signals a full-fledged comeback.

He expressed significant caution about causing inconvenience, noting the structural difference between live broadcasts, where viewers must actively seek him out, and YouTube, where his content could be exposed to those who prefer not to see it due to algorithmic recommendations. Despite this, he emphasized his strong desire to reconnect with his audience through YouTube.

Oking extended his gratitude to those who patiently waited, those who continue to watch despite offering critical feedback, and even those who still view him with discomfort due to his past actions. He acknowledged that satisfying everyone is impossible but reiterated his aspiration to bring laughter back to his viewers as a YouTuber.

Furthermore, he reflected on his past, admitting that he may have become desensitized to the happiness and immense love he received. He expressed deep regret for the significant disappointment caused by his unforgivable choices, thanking not only viewers who saw him as just an entertainer but also those who genuinely believed in him, his content, and offered sincere support.

"It is for them, those who sent me both stern criticism and warm encouragement for my success, that I aim to restart YouTube with the personal desire to make them laugh again," he stated. Oking pledged to do his utmost, even if only one person were to enjoy his content, accepting criticism humbly and promising not to repeat past mistakes.

Oking began his YouTube journey in 2013, gaining significant popularity for his sharp wit and engaging editing style.

His content primarily focused on gaming, daily life vlogs, and talk shows, fostering active communication with his subscribers.
