Actress Lim Soo-hyang Embarks on 'Life Cleanup' Post-Burnout, Aims for Minimalist Living
Actress Lim Soo-hyang has shared an update on her life, revealing that she is currently in the process of organizing her life after experiencing burnout.
On the 14th, a video titled 'Organizing Step-by-Step! I Need to Organize My Clothes!' was uploaded to Lim Soo-hyang's YouTube channel, 'Lim Soo-hyang: Turtle and Crane'. During the video, while tending to her pets' food, Lim Soo-hyang cautiously opened up about her current situation.
"Aren't I organizing my life right now?" she began, explaining that after receiving an award at the KBS Drama Awards, she experienced burnout, which led her to a period of deep reflection. She recalled last year being incredibly busy, even traveling to Antarctica for filming, and expressed a desire to live a 'clean, compact, minimalist life,' which prompted her to start decluttering.
Notably, she revealed, "I even sold my car. I sold it to change everything," candidly admitting, "Honestly, I want to throw everything away and buy everything new," drawing laughter with her honest confession about human desire.
Beginning her clothing organization, Lim Soo-hyang stated, "I need to organize my clothes first. This is the most urgent." While planning to sort items for donation, disposal, or a flea market, she found herself picking things back up, explaining it's a process to let go of old items and make space for new ones.
When staff remarked, "You have an 'ojoo-eok' (a massive number) of pants," Lim Soo-hyang defended herself, "For an celebrity, I don't have that many." However, the staff pointed out multiple pairs of identical jeans. Lim Soo-hyang argued, "The details are different," and "The fit is different too." Her impassioned defense ended with a comical outburst, "I'm not doing it!"
Lim Soo-hyang debuted in the 2009 drama 'Tteokbokki Mystery' and gained significant popularity with 'New Tales of Gisaeng' in 2012. She has since showcased her versatile acting skills in numerous productions, including 'I Do I Do,' 'You Are the Best!', 'Blow Blow Spring Wind,' 'Graceful Family,' 'When I Was Most Beautiful,' and 'Kokdu: Season of Deity.' In 2022, she received the Excellence Award for a Serial Drama Actress at the KBS Drama Awards for her role in 'The Good Bad Mother.'
