Singer and actress Son Dam-bi has candidly discussed her thoughts on having a second child.

Appearing as a guest on the SBS variety show 'Shinbal Batto Go Dolcing Four Men' (translated as 'Take off your shoes, Dolcing Four Men') on the 16th, Son Dam-bi shared insights into her personal life.

Initially, she revealed that she had no plans for children after marriage. "I thought it would be enough to live half my life alone and the other half with my partner," she stated. However, her husband's strong desire for a child eventually changed her perspective.

"Because I love this person, I thought it would be truly joyful to have a child who resembles him," she explained, detailing the moment she decided to become a mother.

When asked about having a second child, Son Dam-bi shared the challenges of her first pregnancy at 43. "I had my first child at 43 after great difficulty. The IVF process was incredibly strenuous, and I suffered greatly from placenta previa, which made natural birth impossible and carried a high risk of premature delivery," she recounted.

Her story resonated deeply with Lee Sang-min, who is currently undergoing IVF treatment.

Son Dam-bi married former speed skating national team athlete Lee Gyu-hyuk in 2022 and welcomed their son in December 2023. At 40 years old during her pregnancy, she reportedly faced significant challenges conceiving through IVF. She has openly shared the difficulties of the IVF process and the anxiety caused by her placenta previa diagnosis on television, receiving widespread support. She is currently focusing on raising her child and enjoying her married life.

Son Dam-bi married Lee Gyu-hyuk, a former national speed skating athlete of the same age, in 2022. In December 2023, at the age of 40, she gave birth to their son through IVF treatment, receiving many congratulations. She honestly shared her experience of difficult natural childbirth due to placenta previa during her pregnancy, evoking sympathy and concern from many. She is currently focused on raising her child and leading a happy married life.
