WOODZ Recalls Unexpected Encounter with J.Y. Park Before Debut on 'Radio Star'

Singer WOODZ shared a surprising anecdote about meeting J.Y. Park before his debut on the MBC entertainment show 'Radio Star'.

Appearing on the episode aired on the 17th, WOODZ revealed the untold stories behind his journey to becoming a singer, including his past experience studying soccer in Brazil.

He explained that after graduating elementary school, he went to Brazil for soccer, but eventually realized his passion lay in music and returned to Korea to pursue it.

Upon his return, WOODZ confessed his dream of becoming a singer to his parents and began auditioning extensively. Despite facing approximately 40 to 50 rejections, he was eventually accepted into agencies that previously housed artists like T-ara and Davichi. He also mentioned that if he had joined Pledis Entertainment, he could have been a trainee contemporary with the members of SEVENTEEN.

Significantly, WOODZ brought up his appearance on the variety show 'Ye-eun-in-ryeok-so', asking Kim Gura if he remembered it. He then presented a photo taken with J.Y. Park, explaining that it was captured at a Chinese restaurant his mother used to operate next to JYP's old headquarters, a popular spot for celebrity gatherings.
