Lee Byung-hun Reveals He Once Raised 27 Dogs Before Marriage

Actor Lee Byung-hun has surprised many by revealing that he once owned as many as 27 dogs before getting married.

During an appearance on the YouTube channel ‘DdeunDdeun’ on the 20th, alongside his co-stars Lee Sung-min and Yum Hye-ran from the film ‘Confinement’ (literal translation), the conversation turned to pets.

When asked by host Ji Suk-jin if he currently keeps any pets, Lee Byung-hun shared, "I don't have any right now. But when I lived with my mother before marriage, we had up to 27 puppies at one time," a statement that left Yoo Jae-suk and Ji Suk-jin in disbelief.

He further elaborated, "More than half of them were large or medium-sized dogs, totaling 27 including the puppies. Feeding them was a huge task, but cleaning up after them was incredibly difficult." He added, "Eventually, I realized it was too much, so I started asking around if anyone would like to adopt them. Now, there are about 4 left."

His co-star Lee Sung-min also shared his own pet stories, recommending cats over dogs and describing his own feline companion as very affectionate and dog-like.

Lee Byung-hun, born in 1997, won the Best Actor award in the film category at the Baeksang Arts Awards in 2023 for his role in 'Concrete Utopia'. He also tied the knot with his girlfriend, who is ten years his junior, on December 31, 2023.
