KickFlip Returns with 'My First Flip,' Embracing Mature Love Themes

Rookie boy group KickFlip has officially announced their comeback with their third mini-album, 'My First Flip,' holding a showcase to celebrate the release. The group, which debuted to immediate acclaim as 'super rookies,' continues to expand their fanbase.

At the showcase held at Yes24 Live Hall in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, member Gye-hun explained the album's shift, stating, "Unlike our previous songs, we've adopted a more mature student image." KickFlip has steadily built a unique identity by blending energetic performances with relatable, nascent emotions.

'My First Flip' delves into the sweet and fluttering feelings of first love, interpreted through KickFlip's distinct style. The album features a total of seven tracks, including the title song 'First Song I'm Singing,' with all members contributing to the songwriting and composition, showcasing their growing musical prowess. Dong-hwa shared, "Our live performance skills are truly improving," highlighting the growth experienced through festival performances, while Min-je added, "Connecting with fans on various stages and truly enjoying ourselves is our growth."

The title track, 'First Song I'm Singing,' is an upbeat dance song based on pop-punk, characterized by powerful synth sounds and guitar riffs, capturing the excitement of a confession. Notably, youngest member Dong-hyun participated in both the lyrics and composition for this track, further demonstrating his talent as a singer-songwriter. Dong-hyun expressed, "I wrote the lyrics while thinking of our fandom (WeFlip), and I wanted to share the overwhelming feeling with the hyungs."

Global interest in KickFlip is also soaring, with invitations to perform on international stages like Lollapalooza Chicago and Summersonic 2025, indicating a steep growth trajectory. Gye-hun confidently stated, "We are confident in our live performances," expressing his ambition to achieve first place on music shows. Dong-hyun added a wish to perform with a bouquet of flowers if they win.

Despite debuting less than a year ago, KickFlip has already garnered significant recognition for their solid fanbase and musical talent. All members actively participate in songwriting and composition, actively shaping their unique artistic identity.
