Jang Yoon-ju Transforms into a 'Greedy Heiress' in New Drama 'The Kind Woman Bu-se-mi'

Actress Jang Yoon-ju is set to captivate audiences with a dramatic transformation as a wealthy socialite in the upcoming TVING original drama, 'The Kind Woman Bu-se-mi.'

At the production presentation held on the 22nd, Jang Yoon-ju commented on her new role, stating, "Compared to my previous works, it could be seen as a bold transformation, but I don't think I've reached my limit for bold changes yet. There's still more to come."

She further shared her initial hesitations, admitting, "When I first read the script, it was very interesting. However, I naturally had concerns about whether I could pull off the role." Despite these worries, after diving into director Lee Hwan-min's previous works, particularly binge-watching 'The Kidnapping Day,' she felt a strong conviction that she could trust the director and embark on this project.

In the drama, Jang Yoon-ju portrays Ka Seon-yeong, an ambitious stepdaughter who stops at nothing to achieve her desires. "I felt the pressure of whether I could truly embody Ka Seon-yeong, who would go to any means necessary," she confessed. "However, by fully trusting the director and maintaining close communication, we were able to bring Ka Seon-yeong to life."

Reflecting on her acting journey, which began about ten years ago with the film 'Veteran' in 2015, she expressed a deep emotional connection to her character. "After all the filming was done, I cried alone in the bathroom," she revealed. "While viewers might wonder how an actor could cry like that, I cried profusely at home because I truly understood and loved Ka Seon-yeong."

'The Kind Woman Bu-se-mi' is a crime romance about a woman from a humble background who enters into a contract marriage with a terminally ill conglomerate chairman, aiming to reset her life. She must then evade those who covet the vast inheritance by switching identities and surviving for three months. The series premieres on ENA on the 29th at 10 PM, with exclusive VOD release on Genie TV immediately after broadcast and on TVING for OTT viewers.
