Jung Suk-won Touched by Unexpected Reunion with Marine Corps Senior at Restaurant
Actor Jung Suk-won was deeply moved by the warm camaraderie he experienced after a chance encounter with a senior from his Marine Corps days at a restaurant, thirteen years into his marriage with Baek Z Young.
A YouTube video uploaded on the 'Baek Z Young' channel on the 6th showed the couple visiting a famous dumpling restaurant in Eunma Sangga for a date. To Jung Suk-won's surprise, the restaurant owner turned out to be his former Marine Corps superior.
Upon recognizing his senior, Jung Suk-won immediately stood up and saluted with a sharp 'Pilseung!' (Victory!), a customary greeting in the Marines. Baek Z Young also joined in with a grateful 'Pilseung!'. When it came time to pay the bill, the owner, upholding the bond of their shared military service, insisted on treating them.
Jung Suk-won, visibly touched and even a bit emotional, expressed his gratitude, recalling that 'in the Marines, seniors traditionally take care of such things.' Baek Z Young was also overwhelmed with thanks. The owner emphasized the unique bond, stating, 'One must experience it at least once if you're a Marine.' Jung Suk-won, before leaving, left a signed message of 'I will do better' and bowed deeply, expressing his heartfelt thanks.
Jung Suk-won debuted in the 2008 film 'Hello, Schoolmate' and has pursued an acting career.
He married singer Baek Z Young in 2013 and they have one daughter together.
After his marriage, he reduced his public activities to focus more on his family.
